Pencil Horse Portrait

The portrait of Flash was commissioned by a returning client in Australia, a lovely lady called Jo. When she commissioned some dog portraits a few years ago, she even sent me a handcrafted wooden trivet in the shape of two geckos that fit together as a thank-you gift. To this day, it is one of my favorite possessions, and it sits proudly on my kitchen table! I hope you enjoy reading about the commission of Flash and seeing more photos of the drawing below.

About the Horse Portrait Commission of Flash

Jo commissioned me to create a **30 x 40-inch pencil drawing** of her beautiful horse, Flash, who passed away very suddenly in 2018.

Jo and her family were devastated by the loss and wanted a portrait that would allow them to treasure his memory forever. The large format of the portrait allowed me to capture an incredible level of detail.

30 x 40 inches is one of the **largest sizes I offer**, and it was a joy to work on. Thankfully, my drawing desk is just big enough to accommodate large commissions like this!

The portrait made its way safely to Australia, and Jo and her daughter emailed me when it arrived. Scroll down to read her heartfelt message and see more photos of the finished artwork.

Happy Clients...

"I don’t know what to say. Opening your beautiful drawing of Flash made me and my daughter burst into tears. You have captured him so perfectly. He was the most amazing horse, an absolute one in a million, and I will never get over the sudden loss of him. I can’t thank you enough—you are so talented and so wonderful to work with."
